In order to regulate the market management order of the platform and create a safe and secure online shopping environment for consumers, Jumia platform implements the rules of prohibited goods in accordance with relevant national laws and regulations.
1. Description of prohibited goods
The prohibited goods include the goods restricted from import or sale. The goods restricted from import or sale refer to the goods that are not allowed to be sold at each site. Due to religious and policy disparities in different African countries, the goods restricted from import or sale vary from country to country (Click here for the list of the prohibited goods from import or sale).
For the FBJ sellers, if the items do not belong to the goods restricted from import or sale in the corresponding country, the third-party logistics provider cooperating with the seller shall be consulted to verify whether the items are shippable.
2. Additional customs fines
In the event that any seller causes any loss to Jumia (including but not limited to customs fines, and administrative forfeiture) for selling the prohibited goods, the seller shall indemnify Jumia for all such losses and Jumia shall have the right to deduct such amount directly from the balance of the seller's account.
If the seller seriously or repeatedly violates the rules of prohibited goods, Jumia has the right to delist the seller's shop according to the rules of the platform or the local laws of each site.
